Directions to 2 Moot Hall, Ireby, CA7 1DU

From the South (you have a choice!)
1. A1 to Scotch Corner, A66 to Keswick. Do not go into Keswick but at the roundabout take the A591 (Carlisle) , past Bassenthwaite Lake, for about 7 miles. At the Castle Inn, turn right (Ireby, Uldale, Caldbeck) ; keep left to Ireby at the Uldale sign and the village is reached in 2 miles (avoid signs to High Ireby). As you pass through ‘the narrows’ to enter the village, the Moot Hall is to the left; number 2 is the middle part. There is parking to the front and the rear of the property.

2. As above, but join the M6 (N) at Penrith. Exit at junction 41 (Wigton). After 8 miles, take the left hand junction to Caldbeck. Travel through Hesket and Caldbeck , over Caldbeck Common (take care-sheep!) until you reach a right –hand fork to Ireby (Keswick, Aspatria). Follow the signs to Ireby and when you reach the village, turn left down the main street, continue until you reach the old market square and the ‘Lion’ and you will see Moot hall to your right.

3. M62, M6 (N) until you reach Penrith and then either route 1 or 2.

4. Skipton, Ingleton, Kirby Lonsdale and then either join the M6 or take the scenic route via Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick, then route 1.

From the North
From Carlisle, take the A595 (Workington). Continue on this road past Wigton and after approx. 3 miles there is a small left hand turn to Ireby. Continue on this road for just over a mile until it reaches the T junction, turn left and keep following this road as it curves past the church and down the hill to a bridge. Ireby is about a mile from here; drive through the village until you reach the ‘Lion’ and the Moot Hall diagonally opposite.
